Smart TV IPTV Setup

Get TheStreamPlug running on Android TV, Samsung, or LG smart TVs.

Android TV / Google TV

Works on NVIDIA Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, Sony, TCL, and any other Android TV device.

Open Google Play Store
From your Android TV home screen, navigate to the Google Play Store.

Search "TiViMate" and install
Search for TiViMate and install it. It's free with optional premium features.

Open TiViMate → Add Playlist → M3U Playlist
On the welcome screen, tap Add Playlist and select M3U Playlist.

Paste your M3U URL
Enter the M3U URL from your welcome email into the URL field.

Name it and tap Next
Name the playlist "TheStreamPlug" and tap Next. TiViMate will load all channels.

Add EPG URL in Settings → EPG
Go to Settings → EPG and add your EPG URL from your welcome email. EPG data populates within 1–2 hours.

Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)

Samsung Smart TVs run Tizen OS and have limited app availability. For the best experience, we recommend using a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box plugged into your Samsung's HDMI port.

Recommended: Plug a Fire TV Stick 4K Max into your Samsung TV's HDMI port for the easiest setup and best performance. The native Samsung app approach below works but is more involved.

Install Smart IPTV from the Samsung App Store
On your Samsung TV, open the Apps section and search for Smart IPTV. Install it.

Note your MAC address
Open Smart IPTV and note the MAC address shown on screen — you'll need this to activate.

Activate on your computer
On your computer, go to siptv.app/activation and activate using your MAC address.

Reload Smart IPTV on your TV
Go back to your TV and reload the Smart IPTV app.

Upload your M3U playlist
From the activation page on your computer, upload your M3U playlist URL and it will sync to your TV.

LG Smart TV (webOS)

LG Smart TVs run webOS. Similar to Samsung, the best approach is a Fire TV Stick or HDMI device for the easiest setup. A native option is also available.

Recommended: Plug a Fire TV Stick 4K Max into your LG TV's HDMI port for the best experience. The native LG app option below is available but more limited.

Install SS IPTV or Smart IPTV from the LG Content Store
Open the LG Content Store on your TV and search for SS IPTV or Smart IPTV. Install your preferred option.

Follow the on-screen activation steps
Open the app and follow the on-screen activation steps — this typically involves visiting an activation URL on your computer.

Enter your M3U URL in the app settings
In the app settings, paste your M3U URL from your welcome email and save.

Best experience tip: The easiest way to get IPTV on any smart TV is to plug in a Fire TV Stick 4K Max (~$60) into the HDMI port. It's easier to set up, has TiViMate support, and performs better than built-in smart TV apps.
